Contempt in the Christian Church

Contempt involves apprehending the bad qualities of someone as they really are, while simultaneously making a comparison between this person and ourselves. Because of this reflexive element, contempt involves what we might term a positive self feeling on the contemptuos you now what that means. We feel good about judging others. The church looks nothing like the community that god has in mind. This is not the operating system of the kingdom of god. It also produces deep, deep discouragement.
