Introduction
I thought I was really putting into a different kind of language. The way I put it seemed to catch the public imagination in a way that it hadn't been caught. What Darwin did, it turns out, must have been clever because nobody did it before. But it's terribly simple. Predators are beautifully designed to kill prey and they're pretty beautifully designed to escape from predators. So whose side has gone on? You cannot reconcile this view with the fact that nature really is read into some form. There's an enormous amount of suffering. Inspiration is everywhere. If we ever find it, it will be Darwinian life. That's my prediction.
