The committee investigating january sixth had to go to the us. Supreme court in order to get documents from the national archives. So this is something that the former president routinely does, destroys records. Hides records, tries to keep them out of the hands of government authorities. And we don't know exactly what happened in this case, but the pattern of events certainly suggests that the fbi had gotten to the end of its rope and did not believe that trump was going to co operate with thim.
