Love the Enemy
In human relationships where there is shared life, what's owed to the other is not tit for tat. Now that always has to be mutual and it has to be in a virtuous friendship. You can see this going terribly wrong in friendships of near pleasure or friendships of mere utility. So loving the enemy doesn't mean you've become friends with the enemy.
