The Blind Spot in Deriving All Authority From Within the Self

Spiritual thinkers have historically called this the false self, meaning some of us live with an inflated view of the self. And we can't just detangle those patterns that live within us all on our own. When you give authorship to God, it's been my experience that something deeper tends to happen. The authority in my life remains the false self regardless of how consistently or inconsistently I have a quiet time.
