Seneca's Distinction Between Good and Bad Emotions

Seneca says that anger, for instance, or emotions like anger, they do come in degree. And Aristotle will say some degree of anger is actually a good thing. Seneca, on the other hand, says, no, it's inherently destructive. So he alludes to this distinction between good and bad emotions. In fact, even before the end of section one of letter 116, he says, after I have banned desire, I will allow for wanting.
