Within a number of plantation economies and plantationist societies you've got a whole strat of people. You've got individuals who might, especially in areas where it's intensive labor and this is enforced labor but also folks who are doing other types of jobs. So yes, a group of people with their own cultures, with their own syncretic sense of religion,. With their own ideas about relationships, withtheir own sort of familiar structures.
