The Dangers of Open AI
The idea that there's a sort of teleological drive in this stuff that if it can be created, it will happen and therefore we should let it happen is extremely dangerous. I really don't want that to be the story of this century. So my instinct is that we're dealing with a world where inhuman machines, corporate identities are controlling other kinds of inhuman machines and the alliance between them might squeeze us out. And so I think we need governments compelling the companies to open the kimonos to scientists so we can figure out what’s going on and fight it.
