The Historical Adam and Eve in Romans 5
I think that the doctrine of the fall does require a historical Adam. Without a historical Adam, the entrance of sin and spiritual death into the human race is without a cause. And so it's one of the reasons I think that Paul's teaching in Romans 5 does commit us to the historicity of Adam and Eve.
