James Webb's Deep Field

The first five images have been released by the james webb space telescope. They are coloured artificially, as almost all pictures astronomy are. This particular image has also allowed us to see the spectra of a red galaxy. That red galaxy is 13 point one billion light years away. And we're seeing an exo planet passing in front of its star and the light passing through that atmosphere so that some of it gets absorbed. The absorption spectra shows there's water vapor in that exo planet. Phenomenal. But it's closer to its star than mercury is to the sun.
