The Complexity of Individual Actions
I think if you perceiving social phenomena, it's very hard to explain them individualistically. So I don't think a mob storm the capital. I think this individual went into that room, that individual went intothat room, that individuals raised a spear, that individual pushed someone. And when you describe it that way, then there's nothing to explain. But we love these kind of broad strokes, high level explanations for things because they're so simple. You can take all of that complexity that's involved in each individual's actions and just summarize it as they were part of one mind. They performed a collective action. The reality is so much more complicated.
