Is There a Relationship Between Immediacy and the Subject?
What are we turning away from the work of art when we talk about our own reaction to it, whether it's a complaint about immersivity or not? What's the relationship between immediacy and the subject object distinction? I'm worried that there is something about the technological shifts in our access to images. And so it's very difficult to even wrench any sense of immediation out of that.
