“The 12 was introduced, on film only, in 1989 to cover the large gulf between PG and 15.” Gremlins (1984), The Goonies (1985) and Ghostbusters (1984) all have something in common, and it isn’t that they all start with G. All of these films were rated 12 or 12A.
