The History of Moons
Until Copernicus, moons were actually called planets. It wasn't until Kepler that we started calling the moon a satellite of the Earth. Some moons can have rings? Yeah, absolutely. They have so many mini moons. If you're big enough that you dominate the gravitational environment nearby, then yeah, you can have your own rings.
