The Price of Having an Ideal
The rule for is compare yourself to who you were yesterday and not some to who someone else is today. One of the things I learned from reading Carl Jung which is a very useful thing to learn is that you can't have an ideal without having a judge. The higher the ideal and the lower you are in relationship to it the more judgmental the judge becomes. You're always insufficient in relationship to your ideal especially if it's the highest ideal imaginable well you might become crushed under the weight of that.
