The Reality Behind the Scenes of Talent
Even when somebody looks talented, the reality behind the scenes is actually it's because they've had some pre-training. You always discovered for example one person I know who was really really good is because he was a black belt in a martial art. That made it much easier for him to understand how to move in a different way with these dances. He would just follow the sorts of things that he'd learned from those martial arts. And I've now developed that bodily awareness. I'm now learning something else on an art-an-teen tango and people when I go to tank class they say oh my goodness you learned so fast.
