We can now admit, without becoming instrumentalist, what berkley has said of the nature of hypothysis in the following passage. It shows both the weakness of his analysis, it's fa alu to realize the conjectural character of all science, including what he calls laws of nature,. and also it's strength, it's admirable understanding of the logical structure of hypothetical explanation. End quote. So what i would say is, we can see right there, he actually does say, the observed by the unobserved. We can explain the observed in terms of the unobserved, which is far closer to the mark i prefer davids, which is simpler language.
