The King of the Delta Blues singer's album sparked a concerted search for information about Johnson among the community of white blues scholars and musicians. This investigation, at least initially, took a lot of time and involved very few clues. But because of that work, we now have more reliable information about Johnson than pretty much any other Delta Blues singer of his generation.
