Alfreda and Noma sat on the beach, looking at hagfish carcasses. The fish were moving in patterns that almost made sense - but they didn't used to be. Some of the inshore trawlers were heading out toward the horizon's edge where the aquamarine line bloomed. Alfreda pressed her lips together. Nobody would do such a thing. Nobody grown up? No. They're just animals, not like the whales. At least they weren't using their technology as much anymore. It was easier for them to find another home elsewhere.
