Giovanni and His Father's Fishing Boat

Giovanni was born a Christian, but converted to Islam after being captured by Courser's. He spent the next three years changed to the ore of a galley, pulling back and forth across the coast. The fear gripped him when his galley was involved in a major battle. Giovanni embraced Islam and left his old life behind. Before long he would become the most feared man in the Mediterranean under command of Hassan Hayardin Barbarossa. His story will be published as part of an ongoing series called "The Ship That Saved My Life," which airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
