What Is It About This Variant?

There are more than 50 mutations to the genum of this lar variant. That's roughly three times more than we've seen with any of the previous variants of concern. The theory is that they arise in immuno compromised individuals, people who are unable to shake the virus completely. And what that tends to do is select versions of the virus within that one individual - and then they end up getting transmitted to others.
