The Importance of Domestic Security in Chinese Politics
Xi Jinping has in the past couple of years really emphasized within China that private Chinese companies can't just focus on making money anymore. The word that Xi hammers over and over again and defining those interests is security. Would it be a misreading to see that as a reason to worry that the Chinese government could or might seek to push by dance to leverage TikTok towards these kind of Chinese national interests?
