Hess and the Sturmabte-Lung

Rudolph Hess was part of the Sturmabte-Lung, a term which means storm detachment. The SA is better known as the brown shirts because of the color of their uniform. In 1921, a Marxist group tried to assassinate Hitler with a bomb and has protected him in doing so. After the Nazis really did get control of the German government in 1933, he appointed Hess as his deputy fuhrer or leader.
