Is There a Sundance of Video Games?

Do we need a Sundance of video games? Maybe that was once maybe indie Kate or something, but I'm not sure it fulfills that role anymore. The Game Awards are a manifestation of the fact that the games industry is reaching many more people and much more money is going around. And so it needs to calcify a little bit and have these award shows in order for them to put the sticker on the box and off they go.
