How Options Pricing Works in Reverse
In a hypothetical Tesla trade, if the stock actually does nothing or even drops, you could easily lose half or all of the $1,600 for that particular option contract. The riskier way to get your costs down is to shorten the days to expiration and buy farther out of the money. But this is closer to a lot of ticket, which you'll see people talk about online, which basically translate into some level of gambling. And I don't think that's the kind of strategy you're going to want to scale over time to grow your account.
