The Moral Philosophy of Veganism

I know a lot of people who say, yeah, animals feel pain, but animal suffering doesn't really matter or like, you know, whatever. But to just deny that they feel it at all, I think is such a rare position that isn't any longer taken seriously by either in the sphere of moral philosophy or in the spheres of psychology and neuroscience. And I have a feeling that there's some motivated reasoning going on that the reason why you might be so reluctant to ascribe any kind of sentient experience to these animals are perhaps because it suits how you want to treat them if you know what I mean.
