How Does the Book of Revelation Stand Up Against Modern Scholars?

Most people, even most Christians don't read the book Revelation because they think it's just too odd or strange or bizarre. Scholars know that this was a book written 2,000 years ago by somebody who was trying to communicate to his own audience. And so scholars put it in its ancient context to try to understand what it meant.
