What Was Your Path From Yale Law School to Vera?
The Vera Institute of Justice was founded by Louis Schweitzer, a philanthropist in the 60s and 70s. Nikki Magnay first heard about it when her sister's best friend said she should go to Yale Law School. She worked as an intern there for two years before moving on to work at Vera herself. The organization is now 62-years-old but has been involved with prison reform since its founding.
