SBK was an organization that existed for a year and a half. The movement itself was characterized as laymen running their own therapy. They were still political dissent in the group of people receiving medication. SBK saw the repression that they experienced as providing additional evidence to their critique. It's really important to understand that they didn't just sit down today and say you know okay it's May 1st we're gonna form a revolutionary vanguard today.
