Anger as an Affliction

On the one hand, anger comes with a lot of costs, and that's one of the reasons that we predominantly think of it as a negative or problematic emotion. On the other hand, clearly, there are benefits and a kind of vital energy that's associated with anger that is extremely powerful. And when used in productive ways, can really be very useful for us. It can be useful as a tool for identifying what we really care about. Can be useful to mobilize people,. whether that be people individually or broader social movements. There are so many people who part because of the story that we have about anger, have repressed their anger.
