The Evolution of the Big Five
The first discovery of the Big Five was actually in Spearman's laboratory in 1915 by Edward Webb. I reanalyzed their data in the mid 1990s and published a paper showing that they had actually discovered a five or maybe six factor model of personality. The second thing I find fascinating is to what extent we can think of abnormal personality as describable on the same dimensions as normal personality variation. And whether there are still some remaining things about personality pathology that need their separate description.
