When we were working at american express, i had a mentor who was, you know, levels above me. And earlier in our careers, it was much more of a sales organization. But ivhe distinct memory of a guy that i worked for. His wife would go out of town every so often, and then he get to have the boys over. We'd have bottles of wine and smoke cigars and go to the stake house. He started unfolding this tiny piece of paper from his pocket: It was a check for like 27 thousand dollars.
