The Four Noble Truths of Enlightenment
Buddhism's four noble truths are to help you reenact the Buddha's enlightenment, he says. He proposes that they should be called 'the four ennobling provocations' The first one is typically stated as all suffering or all of life is suffering - but it doesn't mean everything in existence,. Should we interpret it metaphysically? So let me try and go through the four noble truths, but restating them in terms which affording self transcendence, provocations.
