Is It Okay to Blast Our Rubbish Into Space?

Would it be okay to blast our rubbish into space? Well, again, like the one with Antarctica, I'm trying to think my only objections would be pragmatic. My only concern about space garbage is how accurately can we fling it directly into the sun? Can we use the sun as a garbage disposal system? And if we could shoot it accurately, then I would have no problem with it. But still, the number is enormous and the threat is real.
