Are We Going to Stop Producing Gas Cars?
In the US, we're kind of at the last number that I saw, I think it was 7% of sales. We still just blow right past any kind of 1.5 or 2C emissions budget carbon budget. So there's really kind of five roadblocks that make it a completely untenable solution. One is that cost,. the other is that battery production would have to increase almost 700% faster than what we're predicted to do to produce that many vehicles. And then because we're talking about extra vehicles, you got to make room for them.
