i never felt when i was a kid that we were poor. We had to get, basically, the water from around the hundrede to 200 yards away from a well - winter and summer didn't make any difference. There was no shower, so we washed ourselves with washcloth, with soap. My mother made actually less money than my dad and bdad didn't make much money at all because he was a police officer. Just enough did my mother get by to buy the groceries and to buy some things,. And once a year to buy clothes, at christmas time for us, to knit some clothes for us, and stuff like thats.
