The regina industrial school opened its doors in 18 91, and it was part of a larger colonial project that was happening in canada. Industrial schools focused on labor, as in, the children were supposed to learn a trade and then exit the school and be integrated into, so called, you know, canadian society. The work was also really gendered, yes? Meaning the boys learned agriculture and artistnal trades, while girls were trained for domestic work.
