The Rise and Fall of Comedy Novelty Songs

In the 1980s in particular, there was a whole series of like novelty songs and comedy songs basically. One of the more famous early examples was by Benny Hill, Ernie the fastest milkman in the west. There's a this comedy group The Wurzels who were sort of like they portrayed sort of country bumpkin sort of stylings. Props them was famous, song was like, I am a side a drinker. I've got a brand new combine harvester because it was a take on that. And also roller skates - 'I don't know what that says about me'
