There was this fear in the far age of the country. They began their demonstrations. Russian agents, russian mercenaries quickly became involved. And so ukraine did not resist. Ukranian forces did not put up a fight. They let russia have its illegal annexation of crimea. It could have ended there. There was still this considerable tension between the east of the country, the centre and the west. But it was never on the cards that some kind of nationalist, extreme nationalist, hunter was going to stay in power in inkiev without elections. I went, when you've got people firing machine guns and tanks at you, clearly it police action of a special kind.
