Marx's Analysis of the Capitalist Economy
Karl Marx's analysis of the capitalist system has greater relevance today than it did for much of 20th century capitalism. He thought like some other critics of the system, including Schumpeter and Keynes, that capitalism also contained within it the seeds of its own tendency towards stagnation. His understanding of what would mean to that loss of dynamism really was deindustrialization. But in any case, he didn't think that workers would then become unemployed. They're doing little jobs, they're working for themselves and just selling what can on the market.
