The History of the Steam Engine
Before steam engines were even a thing, people still needed to do certain kinds of work. The first way of doing this, without resorting to doing it by hand, was to use a water wheel. It took the creativity of great innovators like thomas savery, thomas newcoman and, most famously, james watt, to lay the foundations in the 17 hundreds for the mass production of the steam engine. In 18 84, charles parsons invented the steam turbine, crucial to powering so called turbo generators for the production of alternating current electricity. He changed the standard of living for billions forever, bringing cheap electricity and opening the possibility of new widgets and inventions never before possible.
