Hirofusa's Five Sons
Hatoiyama Hirofusa and Mira Kikuko had five sons between them. Matazo, Mori Shige, Jutaro, Kazuo, and Goro were all adopted out by other samurai families. The eldest was eventually returned to his legal birth family - but not before some wrangling with the adoptees' biological families. Hatoiyama Kazuo would succeed him as family head when he died in turn in 1877.
