The Fido System

In World War II, 14 Royal Air Force airfields had a Fido system fitted. It allowed British and Allied aircraft to land when enemy planes were not in the skies. The song Baby It's Cold Outside was originally written to tell their guests that a dinner party was over so they should leave.
