The Acid Rain Skeptics' Arguments
In the 1970s, as this becomes a diplomatic issue and as this becomes an environmental issue, the public starts to get much more mobilized. The US for this purpose is also pressuring Western European countries because Germany or West Germany at that time and Britain didn't want to do anything on pollution. They did create a treaty in 1979 that had them start sharing data. And then it became a vehicle for much stricter requirements. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar.
