Psychedelics are one way to access non ordinary states of consciousness. I got interested in catastrophic risk as a by product of u the same thing, like a very local, small scale love of these animals and then the heart break at what happened. In c b t cognbhav pherapy, there is a a popular term called catastrophizing tha people in having more psychological pain and drama in their life because they anticipate the worst possible things that don't end o happening. And so it's important for them to remember that and realize, hey, the only reason i'm scared or pissed off is cause there's something i really love.
