The Three Jewels of Fianar
Fianar makes these three jewels and they become a point of contention. They're the worst artifacts you could get in Dungeons and Dragons. Morgoth is Melchor, ends up stealing them and putting them in his crown even though it burns his hands black to do so. Tolkien says if it's a rich story, you can come up with all kinds of allegories. He doesn't even know how black and evil and awful he is. Gosh, there's lots of rape and incest in the- You know, that's what a fat neck beard would do because he can't conceive of like proper sex.
