The brutality of buddhika's army really stressed at this point in the story absolutely. Dio is very elaborate about exactly what happens to those bodies tasitus is not as elaborate but he says they essentially took no prisoners with the implication that they were killing a lot of people. They know there are going to be repercussions for their actions and even if they had cast off julia cesar and some other roman's that this is a different thing!
