It's not illegal to receive information that's classified from say, it's illegal to disseminate it to us. To be a person who receives it is not a violation of the Espionage Act. The question is at what level of generality was the document described to them and did that constitute a conveyance of classified information? And the special counsel has many ways of finding that out, all of which should be transmissible to a jury.
