Fermion is focused on building the developer tools and a cloud platform for making it super easy to go from blinking cursor to serverless WebAssembly based application. The motivation for start of the company started really, well, I was at CloudFlare working on the workers product and responsible for bringing kind of new language support. And so I added Rust as kind of a first class citizen in addition to JavaScript. In order to do that, you had to actually compile your Rust code to WebAssembly and interact with the JavaScript APIs that the CloudFlare platform provides.
