The History of the Harlem Hell Fighters
The harlem hell fighters, the famed all black regiment that served in world war one under french command. The man who was really instrumental in the formation of that group of the hell fighters was a musician named james reese europe. And he hadm to new york in 19 o two. His pre war story here in harlem was extremely eventful. I mean, he worked in night clubs and theatresd and he led bands. But he also noticed that the working conditions of black musicians were terrible. This inspired him to form an organization called the cleft club which would help raise the standards of working and living for those artists. He helped so many launch their careers.
